Deal Description:

The borrowers, who lived in Ontario. Whished a home for their son in Alberta, with a mother-in-law suite.

Purpose:

To purchase a second home with an insured mortgage

Employment:

One of the borrowers was well employed with a local utility. The other had just quit her long-time position. As well as their full-time jobs both were self-employed in a seasonal business.

Credit:

Both credit scores were excellent

Problem

The difficulty was that their eligibility had to be based on one salary, plus their self-employed income, which was taken as contra against expenses at each year-end. In the end, some personal and company debt had to be repaid.

Final outcome:

We obtained an insured first mortgage 2.09%, an excellent rate, at the time.

My mother, Mary Speigel, made legendary chocolate chip cookies. We found her recipe:
1 package chocolate chips; 1 cup Crisco; 1 cup sugar; ½ cup brown sugar; 1 tsp salt; 1 tsp baking soda; 2 cups flour; 2 eggs.
Cream Crisco and sugars; add eggs, sifted flour, salt  and baking soda. Mix in the chocolate chips and make into cookies. Bake at 350 for 16 minutes.
